Cassandra Escobar – Paralegal Studies (Associate’s Degree) Graduate | {Campus:4}
Before working at Fremont, I was unemployed and had just begun my journey into motherhood. While undecided on whether to go back to school, a friend of mine applied to Fremont and told me, “Get your feet in the water. Come with me!” so I, too then, applied myself, and we began the Fremont Journey together.
Since I was young, I had always had dreams of working in the legal field. I became a mom at a very young age, so I had put my dreams of becoming an attorney on hold and decided to get my “feet wet” by going to school to obtain a paralegal studies degree. I began my Journey at Fremont College in 2010, I had a few bumps in the road during this process in which I began questioning whether I should stick it out or not. I will never forget my teacher at the time Carla Miaule, as well as the administrative staff not allowing me to give up and encouraging me to keep going. I pushed through it and graduated with my associate degree in paralegal studies in 2011. I have now been a paralegal for almost 10 years. I work at a Civil Litigation Law Firm which is known as the largest minority & women owned law firm in the United States. My work as a paralegal range from drafting discovery, investigation and research and providing our clients with the utmost best work product possible to win their case.
I am so glad I chose Fremont College. Not only was it a perfect fit for my schedule, but the support of the staff made it that much better. There is no better feeling than beating the odds and statistics as single mother and I could not be as successful as I am today had it not been for this school. Thank you, Fremont!
