My experience at Fremont University has truly come full circle. When I initially enrolled in Massage Therapy Sports and Rehabilitation program, I was not sure I what I wanted to pursue. I wasn’t sure if it was the right fit for me. I knew I wanted to help people. I just didn’t know what would be the medium of how I carried out my purpose would be. Once I started taking classes at Fremont University everything just clicked. I was able to pay attention in class, the classes were interesting, reinforced my purpose, and taught me things that were applicable in my daily life.
After completing my Sports and Rehabilitation AS degree, I knew that massage therapy was only a stepping stone in my future. I practiced as a Massage Therapist for 6 years at Massage Envy, small boutique spas, and high end resorts. I gained experience in my field and knew that I was building my resume towards the next step in my career in the spa industry. I received an opportunity to become Spa Manager at a small spa in Menlo Park where I was at the time the Lead Therapist. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience but felt a little unprepared. Around this time, the Healthcare Management Bachelor’s program became available. Natasha contacted me and jumped at the opportunity to gain those skills I felt that I was lacking.
My experience at Fremont University the first time was so amazing that I knew I had to return to advance my skills and career. With my Healthcare Management degree, I was able to intern at a pain management clinic. I wanted to pursue a career in a clinical/hospital setting however, my love for massage and spa has led me to the positions I currently hold, Clinic Business Manager and Instructor at Fremont University. Now my purpose has become fine-tuned. I am certain that my purpose is to spread the healing touch of massage therapy to more than one person a time. By provide a positive work environment for the spa industry professionals and educating future Massage Therapist.
