Fremont University Pumpkin Carving Contest and Halloween Costume Contest Open to the Local Community
Fremont University, with two campuses located in Cerritos and Los Angeles, regularly hosts events for students as a way to get them more involved on campus and with the community. Whether it involves students from the sports and rehabilitation therapy program offering free massages at a nearby sporting event or setting up an information booth at local ethnic festivals, Fremont has been expanding its efforts to reach out to the community.
In the coming months, Fremont has several events planned for the students and is opening these events to the local community. Two of these events include a Pumpkin Carving Contest and a Halloween Costume Contest that will take place during the month of October.
The Pumpkin Carving School Contest will take place on Wednesday, October 24th at the Cerritos campus and on Thursday, October 25th at the Los Angeles campus from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The event is open to the local community who are invited to participate and help choose the winner. Prizes will be awarded to contest winners.
Fremont’s yearly Halloween Costume Contest will take place on Wednesday, October 30th at the Cerritos campus and on Thursday October 31st at the Cerritos campus from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Staff and students are encouraged to participate and prizes will be awarded to contest winners. Last year, the costume contest at both campuses had a good turnout with students and faculty dressed up as cartoon characters, athletes, the Gilligan’s Island crew, nuns, and other creative costumes. This event will also be open to the community who are invited to show off their costumes and participate in the fun.
