Also, it’s good to remember that overreacting can have dire consequences. Think for a second before hitting the “Send,” “Post,” or “Comment” button. You’ll be glad you did.
3. Think Outside the Box
Don’t limit yourself to the most popular social media networks out there like Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Myspace. Email lists, web forums, user groups, photo and video sharing, podcasts, web publications, and niche online communities are all very important when it comes to spreading the word about your business.
4. Be Confident
Believing that people are interested in and excited about what you’re communicating can be difficult. As long as you’re passionate about your product, or business, or brand you don’t have to worry about being right or wrong. Just be confident in your social media marketing abilities, and others will have confidence in your brand and product.
5. Listen to Your Audience
Just because something is of value to your company or your brand doesn’t mean it’s necessarily going to be important to your audience. Always listen to your community and make it a priority to promote what interests them, not just what interests you.
