Just as there are many types of attorneys, so too are there many types of paralegal jobs. As in any career, some jobs pay more than others. As a professional, you will likely want to to know the highest paralegal salary.  According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the average estimated salary across the country for paralegals is $49,500. Considering all you need is a two-year associate degree to get started, this is a great starting salary! However, this is just the average for those who have gone to Paralegal school and received a degree.

  • San Jose – The median annual wage for paralegals in San Jose is $64,478, according to the same source.

Keep in mind that to set yourself apart in this competitive field, you need good experience, a great skill set, and the right education. Depending on where you want to live and the specific field you want to go into, there are plenty of great places around the country that pay a higher salary than the national average.

    I am looking at different paralegal schools and was debating moving to California to take my program. It seems like most of the highest paying legal jobs are all in CA. Not only that but I want an ABA approved university and I believe that there are only a few in Cali to choose from.
